Casabawa, Inc. ("we" or "us") recognize that you care about how information about you may be collected, used and shared. We have created this privacy policy ("Privacy Policy") to inform you of our personal information collection, use and sharing practices.

Personal information refers to any information about an individual who can be identified. To help us achieve our goal of providing the highest quality products and services, we may use both anonymous and personal information.

Although we reserve the right to amend, modify or supplement this Privacy Policy at any time, please be assured that we will only collect, use and disclose your personal information for the purposes identified in our Privacy Policy at the time your personal information was collected unless we otherwise obtain your consent.

 

Sources of personal information

We collect personal information directly from you in a variety of circumstances, including through:

  • your submission of survey responses or other forms;
  • your interaction with us, our affiliates and the web sites we operate (which includes nobia.ca); and

We may also obtain your personal information from third parties whom you have authorized to provide us with your personal information. 

The information we collect

We only collect personal information related to our relationship with you. The types of personal information we collect include:

  • transaction details such as product purchases and other information you may providing when purchasing goods and services;
  • information you provide when registering with us as an online customer, including your name, address, email, product preferences;
  • information you may provide to us to verify your identity for online purchases, including phone and address information;
  • contact details if you subscribe to any of our newsletters;
  • If you use one of our services, or participate in one of our promotions or sweepstakes, we may ask for additional information, such as your age (to verify eligibility), interests or product preferences; and
  • when you visit our web sites, our web server automatically collects information such as log data and IP addresses.

Please note that your credit card informations are only collected and processed by Moneris® Secure Payment Gateway using SSL Security,  and are used according to their privacy and security policy.

 

  • How we use the information we collect

We only use your personal information to help us to better address your needs, including:

  • completing your purchase transactions (and administering any related returns and refunds);
  • providing the services you request;
  • sending you our catalogs, promotions and other offerings;
  • keeping you informed about the status of your orders;
  • administering your participation in any of our contests, promotions and other customer programs;

We may disclose your personal information in connection with your participation in cobranded promotions and, with your consent, with our third party partners.

We may transfer or share a copy of personal information about you in connection with a business transaction, such as a merger, an acquisition of our assets and/or business or the sale of a portion of our business. You will be notified via e-mail or prominent notice on our web sites prior to a change of ownership or control of your personal information.

Direct Mail or Telephone Marketing: If you wish to be removed from the list of customers that receive direct mail or telemarketing calls, please either:

If you choose to e-mail us, please include your name and address, and state one of the following:

  • "NO MAIL OFFERS" (if you don't want to receive offers by mail);
  • "NO PHONE OFFERS" (if you don't want to receive offers by phone); or
  • "NO PHONE OR MAIL OFFERS" (if you don't want to receive either).

Because customer lists often are prepared well in advance of an offering (sometimes few months before the offer is made), you may continue to receive some offers after you send us a request not to use your information for specified marketing purposes. We appreciate your patience and understanding in giving us time to carry out your request.

 

Security

We are committed to handling your personal information with high standards of information security. We implement appropriate physical, electronic and organizational measures to maintain the security and accuracy of personal information we collect, including limiting the number of people who have physical access to our database servers, as well as employing electronic security systems and password protections that guard against unauthorized access. Our web sites use encryption technology, such as Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), to protect your personal information during data transport. When the letters "http" in the URL change to "https," the "s" indicates you are in a secure area employing SSL; also, your browser may give you a pop-up message that you're about to enter a secure area. SSL encrypts ordering information such as your name, address and credit card number. Our customer service center and stores also operate over a private, secure network. Please note that e-mail is not encrypted and is not considered to be a secure means of transmitting credit card information.

 

Location of your personal information

Depending on the personal information we collect and the context of the collection, we may store your personal information in Canada or outside of Canada (including in the United States). Regardless of its location, your personal information will be protected as described in this Privacy Policy and you will be able to access, amend and correct your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Personal information located outside of Canada will be subject to laws of local application.

 

Children's privacy

We only collect, use and disclose your personal information with your consent. If you are under the age of majority, please obtain the permission of your parent or guardian before providing us with any personal information. Protecting children's privacy is important to us. We do not collect or maintain information from those we know are under 13. We also do not send e-mail correspondence to anyone who tells us that they are under the age of 13 without their parent's consent.

Individuals under the age of majority should always ask their parents or guardians for permission before providing any personal information to anyone online. We urge parents and guardians to participate in their children's online activities and use parental control or other web filtering technology to supervise children's access to the web.

 

Links to other sites

While visiting our web sites, you may link to sites operated by our business partners or other third parties. This does not mean that we endorse these sites. Cookies and how we use them

A "cookie" is a small data file stored by your Web browser on your computer's hard drive. It allows us to recognize your computer (but not specifically who is using it) upon entering our site by associating the identification numbers in the cookie with other customer information you have provided us. That customer information is stored on our secure database.

We use cookies to keep track of what you have in your shopping cart and to remember you when you return to one of our web sites as well as to identify the pages you click on during your visit to our web sites and the name of the web site you visited immediately before clicking to our web site. We use this information to improve our site design, product assortments, customer service, and special promotions. You can, of course, disable cookies on your computer by indicating this in the preferences or options menus in your browser. However, it is possible that some parts of our web sites will not operate correctly if you disable cookies.

 

Online account registration

To make online shopping faster and easier, you may register with our web sites. As a registered customer, you only have to enter your shipping addresses and billing information once; they will be securely stored with us for your future use. Using your name and a password of your choice, you may access your account online at any time to add, delete, or change information.

If you are using a public computer, we strongly encourage you to LOG OUT at the conclusion of your session. Your information will still be stored with us but it will not be accessible to anyone else from that computer.

 

E-mails

You will receive promotional e-mails from us only if you have asked to receive them. If you do not want to receive e-mail you can click on the unsubscribe link and hit send at the bottom of any e-mail communication sent by us. Please allow us 3 business days from when the request was received to complete the removal, as some of our promotions may already have been in process before you submitted your request. 

 

Retention practices

We only retain personal information as long as necessary to satisfy our internal requirements which reflect prudent business practices. You can manage your online personal information options by managing your account online or otherwise contacting us as described in this Privacy Policy.
